COD Order Verification on WhatsApp
A Cash on Delivery order costs the buyer nothing to place, so some are never meant to be accepted. ARSAVO asks every COD buyer to confirm the order and address on WhatsApp before your team packs anything.
How it works
- The buyer places a COD order on your storefront or in a WhatsApp chat.
- ARSAVO sends a WhatsApp message with the order summary and delivery address, and asks the buyer to confirm with one tap.
- Confirmed orders move to dispatch. The shipping label is generated through Shiprocket.
- Unconfirmed orders are flagged in your dashboard before packing, so you decide whether to follow up, hold or cancel.
What it stops
| Problem | What verification does |
|---|---|
| Fake orders | A wrong or unreachable number cannot confirm, so the order never ships. |
| Impulse orders | Buyers who have changed their mind get an easy way to say so before you pay for freight. |
| Wrong addresses | The buyer sees the address again and corrects it while the parcel is still with you. |
| Unreachable buyers | You know the buyer is active on that number before the courier tries to call it. |
How much this saves depends on your category and current RTO rate. Estimate it with the COD RTO calculator, where you set your own expected reduction.
Why WhatsApp and not a phone call or SMS
- It gets read. Calls from unknown numbers are often ignored, and SMS inboxes are full of promotions.
- One tap to answer. The buyer does not have to type or wait on a call.
- It scales. Ten orders or a thousand, nobody on your team is dialling numbers.
- It leaves a record. The confirmation sits in the chat if there is a dispute later.
Works with the rest of ARSAVO
- Prepaid nudge. The same chat can offer a discount for paying by UPI instead. See UPI checkout.
- Shipping. Verified orders flow into Shiprocket for labels and pickup.
- Updates in chat. Tracking and the GST invoice go to the same conversation. See WhatsApp commerce.
- No extra app, no commission. Verification is part of the platform, and ARSAVO takes 0% of your sales.
